You may have noticed this little yellow-orange plant root entering the limelight recently. It has a number of powerful health benefits including easing inflammation, increasing circulation, and protecting the heart and brain. You can easily whip up this spice into a warm, creamy treat–perfect for a cold day.
Ingredients
- 1 cup non-dairy milk (I prefer flax milk, but hemp, almond, and coconut milk work too)
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tbsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup to taste
- Optional: sprinkle some cinnamon on top
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients in a small saucepan and whisk until combined.
- Turn the heat to medium high, and whisk vigorously until it begins to foam--but never allow it to boil.
- When the thickness is to your liking, remove from the heat and pour into a mug and enjoy.
